Mathematics University was founded in 2004, with the intentions of filling a niche in the mathematics school improvement category. There were many professional development companies out there, yet all of them seemed to promote the same 'scripted' mentality. All companies on the mathematics market were selling packages that were 'research based' and 'guaranteed' to succeed. It was sickening to see them sending the same exact messages to totally different districts. The frustration of seeing rampant 'common solutions' is what caused Mathematics University to be created.

Mathematics University prides itself on being totally prescriptive to a school or district's needs. Modeled lessons are done in real time. Other companies model lessons that are incredibly scripted and quite possibly replicated 10-12 times a week in many discticts. When teachers see us in action, they see the depth of content knowledge and teaching strategies that we bring.. The solutions we recommend are prescriptive for their specific needs, not just buzzwords and general phrases that will be repeated in many other districts.

CEO / Founder

K-8 Math Specialist

Matt has been involved with the education field for 30 years. Having taught every grade from K-8, he later used that to help the University Of Chicago School Mathematics Project's curriculum Everyday Mathematics. He now uses all that knowledge to help teachers and students appreciate and love math. Since founding Mathematics University in 2004, Matthew has taught in over 7500 classrooms and performed over 300 mathematics workshops,

6-12 Math Specialist

With over 30 years in education, Art has brought a secondary specialty to Mathematics University. His background is incredibly diverse ranging from the 2000 Nike National Soccer Coach of the Year to the Director of Mathematics Instruction for Adams50 in Colorado. His team motivation skills easily parlay into successful motivational techniques for districts. His mathematics aptitude and successful history of district level success have made him an incredible asset to our company. .

Consultant Manager


Millicent is our newest hire and hopefully she will open up our international business with her customer service expertise. Her desire to bring Mathematics University to the international market has brought us to Africa. We are currently looking to help schools in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
